Privacy Policy
Vooz runs live conversations at vooz.video, and live conversations cannot happen unless some of your information moves through our systems. Below, each kind of information is named in ordinary words, next to the reason Vooz needs it and the ways you can look at it, fix it or get rid of it.
Section 01
Information Vooz handles
The goal is to keep only what a feature you are using genuinely depends on. Depending on how far you go with Vooz, that can mean:
- The basics of an account: nickname, whichever sign-in route or email you picked, the age you gave, plus language and other settings.
- Whatever you put on your profile yourself, for instance a photo or a short bio, and the lists of who you follow and who follows you back.
- Text typed during matches, in the chat beside a live stream, and in direct messages between members.
- A log of each match or call: its start time, its length and the mode it used.
- Coin top-ups, VIP membership, gifts in both directions, and the confirmation our payment processor sends after a purchase. Vooz never receives your full card number.
- Reports you file, reports filed against you, and the notes moderators write while handling them.
- Device type, browser version, a rough location inferred from the IP address, and crash or error logs.
Section 02
Camera and microphone
Picture and sound go straight across to your match while a call is running. Vooz does not make a habit of recording ordinary calls. When somebody reports a session, the moderation team can examine things connected to it, messages or still frames for example, to judge whether a rule was broken.
Before Vooz touches your camera or microphone, the browser puts the question to you, and saying yes is never permanent: turn it off again from the browser whenever you like. A text match needs neither device.
Section 03
What the information is used for
- Finding you a match and carrying text, voice and video between the two of you.
- Turning a message into your language once you press translate.
- Making sure coins, purchases, VIP and preferences show up on whichever device you sign in from.
- Handling reports, taking rule breakers off Vooz and keeping members out of harm’s way.
- Tracking down bugs, blocking fraud and understanding which parts of Vooz get used.
- Replying when you email the support inbox.
Section 04
Who else can see it
The stranger you are matched with gets your nickname, age, country, level and language, together with whatever you decide to type or put in front of the camera. Other members can view anything you add to your profile.
Outside companies help us host the site, stream calls, translate, take payments and measure usage; they work on our instructions and only for those tasks. Vooz does not sell personal information to advertisers or to data brokers. We disclose information when a court or law requires it, or when it is needed to stop someone being seriously hurt.
Section 05
How long it is kept
Profile and account details last until the account is closed. Messages, match logs and technical records are held for a limited stretch, after which they are wiped or stripped of anything that identifies you. Payment and moderation files can outlive that when bookkeeping, a dispute, a legal duty or keeping a banned person from returning calls for it.
Section 06
Your controls
After deletion, the profile vanishes from Vooz and personal data connected to it is wiped or anonymised. The only exceptions are records that the retention reasons above oblige us to hold on to.
- Edit or clear your profile from the settings screen at any time.
- Keep the VIP badge hidden if you prefer nobody sees it.
- Block camera or microphone access from inside your browser.
- Request a copy of what we hold, ask for a fix, or have the whole account erased by writing to [email protected] from the email on the account.
Section 07
Adults only
Vooz is meant for people 18 and older. If we learn that an account was opened by someone under that age, the account is shut and its information removed.
Section 08
Updates and questions
A meaningful change to this page moves the date at the top, and bigger changes also get a notice on the site. Privacy questions of any size can go to [email protected].
